Ernest H. Agatstein, MD FACS, is a founding member of West Coast Urology (Paletz Agatstein Urology Medical Group, Inc.). Dr. Agatstein is a Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles where he also received his medical degree and was admitted to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed his surgical internship, general surgery training and urologic surgery residency at UCLA Medical Center.
Board-certified and Board-recertified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Agatstein is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and has served as Chief of Staff at Centinela Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Agatstein has also served as Chief of Urology at Centinela Hospital and Downey Regional Medical Center.
A urological consultant to the Medical Board of California and a qualified medical examiner (QME) for the State of California Workers Compensation Program, he is also a member of the American Urological Association. Dr. Agatstein was named by Castle Connolly as one of Southern California’s top doctors.
Dr. Agatstein performs InterStim, a revolutionary neuromodulation treatment for overactive bladder. His specialized areas of expertise include the surgical management of urologic cancers, penile implants, female urology, urinary incontinence and neuro-urology.
In his spare time, Dr. Agatstein enjoys making family videos, teaching Talmud, snow and water skiing, playing golf and basketball , playing with his grandchildren and taking salsa lessons with his wife.
